Junior Achievement

Fulton Elementary School is proud to offer the Classroom Based Junior Achievement Program as part of our curriculum. Volunteers conduct 5 lessons (6 lessons for sixth grade classes) which last between thirty to forty-five minutes. All of the programs focus on the skills necessary for students to develop work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurism. The programs are designed to be interactive using practical hands on activities that reinforce key concepts to prepare and inspire students to succeed in a global economy. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are interested in becoming a Junior Achievement Volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering for any class, please contact the Fulton office for the Fulton Staff JA Chairperson.

About Junior Achievement

JA Worldwide (Junior Achievement) is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. Their purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate income and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action, and help strengthen their communities.

At no time in recent history has the need for financial literacy and economic education been more evident. Junior Achievement continues to be at the forefront of preparing our youth to successfully participate in today's market. The proven results of JA programs are youth who have an increased understanding of our economic system. This includes the current financial crisis. Through Junior Achievement, powerful insight is provided which will help to avoid making similar mistakes in the future. We believe as a community, we can start inspiring tomorrow's leaders to make successful choices today.
